Static-X Pulls off Tour Dates

October 7, 2012 – With much regret, Static-X has been forced to pull off the remaining dates of their 2012 Tour following last nights final show in Flint, MI on Sat, October 6th. Wayne Static must return to Los Angeles and prepare for some medical procedures to remedy problems that have been hampering his performance.

Wayne relays his personal apologies: “I’m so sorry to all my fans but I cant give you the 1000% you deserve from Static-X every night right now. Evil disco will continue in 2013. Just wait until you see whats next!!!”

Emmure and Ill Nino will be continuing on the currently scheduled dates. In a few weeks Static-X have been allowed to perform on local shows in Lancaster, CA on Oct 27 and Ventura, CA on Oct 28.

SUNFLOWER DEAD consists of Jaime Teissere (guitar, formerly of Droid), Michael Del Pizzo (vocals, piano, accordion), Jaboo (guitar) formerly of Two Hit Creeper, Luis Gascon (bass) touring member of Buckethead, and Jimmy Schultz (drums) touring drummer of In This Moment. The band formed with a goal of creating an undeniable unit that would not just move but more importantly, entertain people.

After forming, the group went into Temple Studios (owned by Raymond Herrera of Fear Factory and B Real of Cyrpress Hill) with Christian Olde Wolbers (Fear Factory) to produce their 11- track self-titled debut record, set to release on August 21, 2012 with Bloody Bat Records LLC. Co-produced and mixed by Jeremy Blair (Guns N’ Roses, DevilDriver) at Temple and House of Blues Studios, and mastered by Robert Hadley (Korn) at The Mastering Lab, the album has a tight, punchy sound with crushing low end and ultra wide sonics.

Randy Blythe Arrested for Manslaughter In Prague: UPDATED!

As reported by MetalSucks.com, citing an article on Novinky.cz, Lamb Of God frontman Randy Blythe was arrested on charges of manslaughter stemming from a “tragic incident” in Prague on May 24, 2010, which led to a death. In the article, the Lamb Of God performance tonight at Club Cafe in Prague was cancelled by the band’s management identifying no specific reason, says local promoting agency Obscure.

The band was scheduled to perform tonight with All Shall Perish and Skeltonwitch. Stay tuned for more information on this breaking story.

UPDATED:

LAMB OF GOD management will be issuing an official statement on Monday regarding the charges made against singer Randy Blythe. As no formal charges have yet been made and the case is only in the investigation stages, it would be premature to make an official statement filled with false truths or innuendos.

“Having said that, management wished to address today one false piece of information that has been included in many of the news stories released so far. Under no circumstances was there a fight of any kind involved. This incident deals with a fan that three times during the concert jumped the barricade and rushed Randy during the performance. It is alleged that the third time, security was not able to reach him and that Randy pushed him back into the audience where supposedly he fell and hit his head.

Geoff Tate and Queensryche Part Ways

Queensryche have officially parted ways with singer Geoff Tate, and have replaced him with Crimson Glory singer Todd La Torre.

The band say that creative difference forced them apart, but are positive about their future:

“We want our fans to know that we hoped to find a common resolution, but in the end parting ways with Geoff was the best way for everyone to move forward in a positive direction,” said drummer Scott Rockenfield.

“We wish him the best of luck with all of his future endeavors. We can’t wait to bring Queensryche to our fans with Todd behind the microphone.”

For now, official Queensryche performances are on hold until further notice.

Reports over recent months suggest that it was more than just creative difference which led to his departure. Henne Music report on an alleged incident in Sao Paulo in Brazil where Tate is said to have threatened Rockenfield with a knife after overhearing the band talk about firing him. He is also alleged to have punched guitarist Michael Wilton to the floor.

Only two weeks ago, the remaining members had announced a set of live shows with La Torre as Rising West, which played rare and classic hits from early Queensryche albums.

Slipknot’s ‘Antennas To Hell’ Album Details

Dimebag Darrell Tribute Skateboard and Previously Unreleased Song Out Today

Elephant Brand Skateboards, owned by professional skateboarder and 2011 Golden Gods Most Metal Athlete Mike Vallely, today released the Dimebag Darrell tribute skateboard (dimebaghardware.com) collaboration between Elephant and Dimebag Hardware, the latter founded by Darrell Abbott and Rita Haney. In support of the tribute board, a video was filmed at Abbott and Haney’s home in Dalworthington Gardens, Texas. The soundtrack, “Twisted” (available at cdbaby.com/cd/dimebag1), is a previously unreleased song written and performed in its entirety by Dimebag. Darrell’s legendary band, Pantera, is the subject of a new special issue of Revolver.
